Merit Partners is pleased to present this very rare and undeniably appealing RUF 964 RCT Evo Wide Body. We believe many of our cars we get in are special and represent some of the best examples of that particular model but every now and then we get in something truly special that we likely will not ever see again. This RUF RCT represents one of the most unique and distinctively appealing cars we have ever received and is sure to make the new owner feel like he has reached the pinnacle of air-cooled Porsches. This particular car came to us from the UK and is presented in one of the best colors you could ever paint one of these cars, Giallo FLY or its more common name, Ferrari ‘Fly Yellow’. The interior is equally impressive in black full leather with beautiful stitching and custom seat inserts.

For those not familiar with RUF, this company is famous for their iconic ‘Yellowbird’ and the default builder for upgrading and modifying some of Porsche’s most desirable sports cars. Specifically RUF has a long history modifying the 930, 964 and 993 generation cars which have become the most desirable and collectible air-cooled models in Porsche’s classic range. RUF Carrera Turbo (RCT) was the last of the modified 964’s before RUF switched over production to the 993. However, the demand was so great for these 964 RCT’s that cars can still be built today. The new generation of RCT is the Evo, which this car is. It carries a significant upgrade in power and performance from the 3.3L wide body donor car it was based on. This new RCT Evo produces 425 bhp at 5,800 RPM and a prodigious 570 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm while reaching speeds of near 200 mph. The Evo platform represents an additional 60hp and 9mph top speed over the original RCT.

This particular car started our as a 3.3L wide body turbo that started as a US spec car before being sent to Germany as a donor car for the full RUF conversion which included the following: engine upgrade, suspension upgrade, exterior upgrade and full interior upgrade. This car maintained is wide body spec while being modified the RCT Evo specs. At the time of conversion, the engine was completely overhauled and rebuilt to ensure it could handle the increased power from the Evo package. The original donor car covered approximately 47,000 miles before conversion and the new car has had only two European owners covering approximately 11,500 km as the odometer gets zeroed out at the time RUF work is carried out. Most recent work on the car was done in December of 2020 when the car returned to RUF for an annual service, removal of rear windshield wiper and upgrade to RUF big brake kit with brake calipers in green with yellow RUF scripting. Wide body cars are much rarer than the narrow body cars and represent excellent investment cars with total 964 RCT production being around 100 cars and Evo wide body cars being a small subset of those total numbers.

While we love the stock 964 turbo, this RCT Evo represents a significant improvement in every single area far distancing itself from the original car. To drive this car is to have that classic air-cooled look and feel that Porsche is so famous for but now the car has a presence, an urgency and a look that the original cannot touch. It is this modern relevancy while maintaining a classic look and appeal that has made these RUF cars so popular and what is driving car values with other after market builders like Singer and Guntherwerks. The driver of this RUF is rewarded with a far more satisfying experience and cannot help but look back at the stunning example of a car when he walks away from it in a parking lot. This particular car is in pristine condition showing very near what a new car would be with full PPF film over the entire car. Excellent documentation of the work done and services is included and full build sheet on the car is below.
