Merit Partners is pleased to present one of the ultimate air cooled 911’s ever produced, the 993 GT2. Originally created as a homologation car for the GT2 racing class in 1995, the 993 GT2 was officially known by Porsche as the 911 GT. The 993 GT2 was built upon the template of the 993 Turbo, but Porsche left no stones unturned in pursuit of making the car incredibly lightweight and aerodynamically sound. With just 148 left-hand drive 993 GT2 street cars ever produced, this is one of the rarest 911 variants ever made.
This example is particularly special because it is the only one finished in Paint-to-Sample Iris Blue Metallic. Delivered new to Philippe Aunay, a well known collector in France, the car remained under his ownership until 2016.
In 2016, the car was purchased by famous racing driver Adrian Sutil, one of the most prominent modern car collectors in Monaco. After years of ownership, Sutil sold the car to UK dealership DK Engineering in late 2022. During an inspection of the car, the exterior showed small signs of corrosion around the windscreen, a known 993 weak point, as well as the usual stone rash on the delicate areas, including the large rear fenders. Because of these findings, DK used acclaimed painters at Webster & Lancaster Limited to conduct a bare-metal repaint of the entire car. Following the repaint, which we have detailed documentation of, the car was sent to Elite Detailer in London for full car PPF. Today, the car has 27,191 miles (43,760 km) and is in pristine condition.
This GT2 represents the special opportunity to buy a blue-chip example of a 90’s icon. We firmly believe that the market for 90’s supercars will only continue to rise and this car will follow suit as one of the prime GT2 examples.
