Merit Partners is pleased to present this outstanding Carrera RS in White over a Black interior. As far as RS’s go in general, this is our favorite air-cooled car we have ever driven.  Simply an incredible driver’s car and unfortunately, a type of car that will never be made again.  Due to the rarity, most people have never driven a true RS but it is on another planet compared even to the RS America, which Porsche marketed as a softer RS for the US market. The 964 Carrera RS was lighter and even more focused than the RS America or standard C2; in fact, it’s 286 lbs (130 kg) lighter than the standard Carrera 2 thanks to things like a seam-welded chassis, a bonnet made out of aluminum, thinner glass for the side and rear windows, and a set of magnesium Cup wheels. The result is a weight figure of 2,705 lbs (1,227 kg).  With every car made today being fast, it is difficult to find something that gives a true experience which embodies more than just going fast.  The motto is more about driving a fast car slow and to us, we had rather have the experience and drive a slower car fast.

This particular car is an excellent driver example and has already received high marks in its pre-purchase inspection from a Porsche dealership.  It is an all OEM car except for a respray on the car to its original color of white for cosmetic reasons.  It came over from Japan as many of these RS’s have and still has the sticker on the rear windshield from Porsche Japan.  Additionally, the car has good service records from Japan, which is very rare.  With a nice service history, factory manuals and all OEM parts, this car is about as good as it comes for an excellent driver with only 31k miles.  The exterior and interior of the car are in superb condition and the car drives like a 10k mile car.  Cars like this one are hard to find and represent an enthusiast generation that is going away with the modern hybrid cars.  There is no doubt that prices have gone up with good reason on naturally-aspirated, manual transmission Porsches and to us the Carrera RS represents the best of the best.
